EVENT SCHEDULE

Friday, July 27th
6:00 PM – Town Square: TBA Theatre’s “The Tempest”
TBA Theatre’s Summer Shakespeare Academy brings you a story of Love, Magic, Revenge and Forgiveness to the Festival stage. These young actors present one of Shakespeare’s most elegant plays to life using full Elizabethan English and primitive staging. Music, magic, and mystery unfold before your eyes with these gifted youth performers.
8:00 PM – The Avenue: Monologue Contest (Cyrano’s Theater)
Come down to The Avenue and try your hand in two categories of competition. Bring a rehearsed prepared monologue to the stage to see how you stand up to the competition, or just step up with a script in hand to compete in the Unrehearsed category. “Speak the speech I pray you, trippingly on the tongue,” and walk away with bragging rights as the Bard’s Best Monologer!
Saturday, July 28th
12:00 PM – Museum Lawn: Three Barons Tomato Show
The Tomato Show offers audiences a unique opportunity! Experience the fun of fast paced, Shakespearean antics but with the added element of throwing tomatoes at the actors! No Joke! This show has been running for decades at the Three Baron’s Renaissance Faire, but now experience it at the Anchorage Shakespeare Festival as well. Don’t miss out!
2:00 PM – Town Square: Midnight Sun Theatre’s “Romeo and Juliet Julius”
Midnight Sun Theatre presents an all new adaptation of the Bard’s classic romantic tragedy, “Romeo & Juliet.” Renowned (at least in his own mind) Shakespeare historian, Julius Greenbaum, brings his theories to the stage using newly unearthed “knowledge” about Shakespeare’s process. What can possibly go wrong?! Comic fun for everyone.
3:00 PM – Shakespeare’s Saturday Sonnets (Anchorage Community Theatre)
Anchorage Community Theatre presents the Bard’s poetry. Come enjoy a pleasant afternoon in the Alaska Great Outdoors with music, song and poetry from England’s greatest export.

Who knows what kind of fun with be created from the minds of MMA Improv as they hit the boards!
